Hello Lovelies! Like the majority of people at the minute, I'm obsessed with Zayn's new song Pillowtalk. And, we all know I'm a big fan of my covers. So, it was only a matter of time before I featured a pillowtalk cover, wasn't it? The amazingly talented Sophia Karlberg's cover turned up in my subscription box recently and I just knew I had to feature it!
Her voice has got a lovely, slightly husky tone that really lends itself to the song. It's such a soothing version, I could probably listen to this all day for the foreseeable future and not be bored. Really! I haven't got one bad word to say about this version, it's so good you forget it's a cover and just enjoy it for what it is. You know that level of amazing? Yeah, this is it! Well worth a listen. It will also be available on iTunes & Spotify soon so, if you like it definitely support her and check it out there too!
Hello, lovelies! I'm trying to keep up with the covers on this little blog; because I think they're a great way to find new artists. And, who doesn't love that? Plus, I love hearing the songs I know and love already in sometimes and entirely new light. So, I hope you do, too!
I may or may not have already expressed my love for the lovely John Adams on this blog, but either way, it's about time I did it (again?!). I love his gritty, soulful tone and there're moments in his songs I just repeat over and over again because they're so beautiful. Something else you may or may not know about me is that I'm quite a bit Elvis fan, and love Can't Help Falling in Love especially. I think it's a song most people know one way or another. So, when I saw this pop up in my subscription box a week or two ago I knew I had to feature it as soon as I could. A song I adore, sung by a man whose voice I adore equally? Instantly a winner for me!
Of course, however much I love an artist I'm always a shade dubious when I first listen to a cover of a song I love because what if they don't do it justice? It's rare, but it happens! Not in this case, however. I can't express enough how in love I am with this version. Maybe not as good as Elvis', but certainly up there.
Hello Lovelies! My favourite day of the week, of course, is the midweek cover. I know, it's not technically the middle of the week, but it's the thought that counts right? Right?! I'm quite excited about this song, it's been one of the few songs that I've had on repeat these past few weeks, so it absolutely had to be mentioned asap!
Lauren Aquilina - Time To Say Goodbye. I'm sure the majority of us have heard this version on the advert for the final series of Downton Abbey, and from the first time I heard it I was hooked. It's a beautiful song anyway, I'm sure most will agree, and this version certainly does nothing but add to that. Check out the amazing Lauren's YouTube here.
It's certainly been one that's really got me in the mood for the colder weather.
Hello Lovelies! Back into the swing of things with my favourite little series on this blog: the midweed cover. This week, the amazing Andie Case. I've been so, so excited to share this with you guys, I've been absolutely in love with this lady for a while now, and it was actually a bit of a hard decision to choose which of her covers to post, but I finally settled on this Want To Want Me/I Want You To Want Me mashup.
This is the ultimate chilled out, feel good song for the summer afternoons. Andie's voice is absolutely addictive, whenever this song pops up on Spotify I instantly click repeat and listen to it on a constant loop for the next week couple of hours (is it just me who does this?!). Definitely one to play during a nice afternoon in the sun.
Hello lovelies! I'm very, very excited about this weeks mid week cover! You may or may not recognise Lydia Lucy from the X Factor. I was personally a massive fan of hers. Today I've got a cover of Labrinth's Jealous from the lovely Lydia and Alex Wallhead.
Alex and Lydia's voices are absolutely stunning on their own, but I feel like they fit together so well on this song. It's genuinely such a beautiful version of an already very beautiful, emotional song. It's well worth a listen. You can check out more from Lydia and Alex by going here.
Hello lovelies! Another cover for you guys today. I'm sure I'm not alone in my love of this song, I haven't spoken to one person yet who didn't just adore it, so I thought I share one of my favourite covers of this song by a truly amazing lady, Alexi Blue.
I love this girl, I haven't heard one of her covers that I've disliked yet, and I imagine it will stay that way for a while yet! I would happily pay money for her music, without a doubt. She is absolutely amazing, and this offering is absolutely no different. If you want to hear more of her music, you can follow her on spotify.
Have you heard of Alexi Blue? What covers have you been loving lately?
Hello Lovelies! You may remember a few weeks ago I mentioned the lovely Sophia and her cover of Hozier's Take Me To Church. Well, today I'm back with another of her covers that I fell in love with and just had to share with you guys.
I feel like this may be one of those covers that I certainly can't do any justice to by rambling on about them, you just have to listen to it to understand! Don't forget to follow Sophia on Spotify!
What covers have you been listening to this week? Have you listened to any of Sophia's other covers?
Hello Lovelies! Yet another mid week cover for you guys. I've been absolutely obsessed with this song lately, like the vast majority of us I'm sure, so when I stumbled across this cover by the absolutely amazing Charlotte Turnbull I absolutely had to feature it. Immediately!
Her voice is absolutely amazing, I honestly can't fault her. You should also check out her amazing originals, I featured You Are recently.
Hello lovelies! It's that time of the week again, where I share my favourite cover of the week. This week, I've got a cover of the amazing Take Me To Church by Hozier, which is a perfect song already.
Sophia's voice gives this already beautiful song such a new vibe, I can't stop listening to her andhaving serious hair envy! I absolutely recommend giving her channel a look and listening to her other covers, especially her cover of the 50 Shades Of Grey version of Beyonce's Crazy in Love. You can also follow Sophia on Spotify.
Have you found any great covers of songs you can't stop listening to? Have you listened to any of Sophia's covers before?
Hello lovelies! It is arguably my favourite day of the week today: mid week cover day! I think music might posts might be my favourite posts to do, I listen to music almost 24/7, and I love sharing the songs I've been loving, and hearing what's been important to other people. That said, let's move onto this weeks cover!
This week it's the lovely AsiaLoveMusiq with her cover of Taylor Swift's Blank Space. I love Taylor Swift, I really do, but ohmygoodness this lovely lady brings such a new energy to this song. When I'm looking for the covers I'm going to post, I ask myself if I'd be willing to pay money for this version of the song, and I would most definitely part with my pennies to pay for this song maybe over Taylor's version! I honestly cannot rave enough!
