Lydia Lucy & Alex Wallhead - Jealous | The Midweek Cover

Hello lovelies! I'm very, very excited about this weeks mid week cover! You may or may not recognise Lydia Lucy from the X Factor. I was personally a massive fan of hers. Today I've got a cover of Labrinth's Jealous from the lovely Lydia and Alex Wallhead

Alex and Lydia's voices are absolutely stunning on their own, but I feel like they fit together so well on this song. It's genuinely such a beautiful version of an already very beautiful, emotional song. It's well worth a listen. You can check out more from Lydia and Alex by going here.

Alexi Blue - Love Me Like You Do | The Midweek Cover

Hello lovelies! Another cover for you guys today. I'm sure I'm not alone in my love of this song, I haven't spoken to one person yet who didn't just adore it, so I thought I share one of my favourite covers of this song by a truly amazing lady, Alexi Blue

I love this girl, I haven't heard one of her covers that I've disliked yet, and I imagine it will stay that way for a while yet! I would happily pay money for her music, without a doubt. She is absolutely amazing, and this offering is absolutely no different. If you want to hear more of her music, you can follow her on spotify.

Have you heard of Alexi Blue? What covers have you been loving lately?

Weekly Music Favourites | What's Been On Repeat?

Hello lovelies! It is arguably my favourite day of the week again, the day I bring to you what songs I've been loving this week. Now, It hasn't been a massive music week this week. In fact, I've pretty much just been loving 4 songs. On repeat. Literally all of the time. I'm not even kidding. I wish that I was!

Wiz Khalifa ft. Charlie Puth - See You Again. This is the one song that would sum up this week, for me. It's absolutely blown up - understandably - and I've absolutely fallen in love. Taken from the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack, the video for this song honours the late Paul Walker, and the lyrics are possibly some of the most emotional I've heard in a while. I've been in love with this song.

Pheobe Ryan - Ignition/Do You Remix. Possibly the one song I'd recommend off this list, if I had to recommend just one. Anyone who can turn Ignition into a song I want to listen to is a winner in my books. I haven't heard a voice as addictive as Phoebe's in quite a while. You just want to listen again and again. Definitely one you have to listen to, to get.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons - December '63 (Oh, What A Night). First things first, excuse the fact I couldn't find an official video for this. I try to where possible. Anyway, my sister and I got my mother the Jersey Boys for Easter, and we all sat down on Monday evening and watched it with a massive bowl of chocolate orange popcorn (not as nice as you'd originally think, sadly). Ever since, I can't get this out of my head. Possibly the most catchy song in existence.
The film is totally worth it, by the way. The popcorn; not so much!

What songs have you been loving this week?

Recent TV Favourites | March 2015

Hello lovelies! As I mentioned in my first TV favourites, I absolutely love TV. It's my little escape, I curl up in bed with Netflix or Sky+ after a long day and it's an hour or two of complete avoidance bliss! So, I thought I'd share the TV shows I've been loving this past month.

Grey's Anatomy. I mentioned this in my last TV favourites, and it's definitely worth another mention. I've been a massive fan since almost Day 1, and I've basically grown up with the show. We're now on Season 11, but I haven't seen the first few seasons in quite a while, so this past month I've gathered my box sets and I've been marathoning the first couple of seasons. It's been a veritable emotional roller coaster, I've laughed, been angry and cried more than is normal, but it's been worth every second. Definitely the one to sum up March!

The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I expected great things from a Tina Fey comedy, and I wasn't disappointed. A Netflix original comedy about a girl who escapes a cult after 15 years and moves to New York City to build a new life. I didn't want to stop watching this, and actually only did when I absolutely had to. Although the comedy is a bit too silly for my tastes normally, I was hooked from the get-go, and I thoroughly enjoyed every episode. Definitely worth a Netflix marathon!

The Returned. Another show I've been loving on Netflix, although this is just a shade more dramatic than the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt! A new episode is put on Netflix the day after it's aired in America, so we're not that far into the series at all. About a town in which dead residents are coming back to life in one week, this is one I instantly fell in love with. This is exactly my kind of TV show, and it's one I'm very excited about. Although we're only a few episodes into series 1, I'm already absolutely hooked. It's definitely the opposite of the light, cheery, sometimes silly Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and is actually quite heavy at times, but certainly still worth a watch.

What TV shows have you been loving this past month? Have you been loving any of the above shows?

Sophia Karlberg - Crazy In Love Fifty Shades Version | The Midweek Cover

Hello Lovelies! You may remember a few weeks ago I mentioned the lovely Sophia and her cover of Hozier's Take Me To Church. Well, today I'm back with another of her covers that I fell in love with and just had to share with you guys.

I feel like this may be one of those covers that I certainly can't do any justice to by rambling on about them, you just have to listen to it to understand! Don't forget to follow Sophia on Spotify!

What covers have you been listening to this week? Have you listened to any of Sophia's other covers?

Monthly Favourites | March 2015

Hello lovelies! Today I've got my very first monthly favourites on this little blog. How exciting?! Even if it is a shade late! I haven't been loving a lot if I'm being honesty, it's mainly been a big makeup month this month. I've been in a bit of a makeup slump lately, so I've been loving the fact that I'm loving makeup again!

L-R, Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Teal, Collection Extreme 24HR Eyeliner in Blue, Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lipstick in Spring Lilac, MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Criminal.

Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation in Ivory, £8.99. This has been the one foundation I've been really excited to use this month, although I have been enjoying using others. I feel like this really is the foundation that will change the game for me. I've recently posted a first impressions post you can read here, if you want to know what I've loved about this product In a bit more detail.

MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer in Criminal, £3. I feel like the hype around MUA died down very quickly once Makeup Revolution came on the scene, which is a shame because a lot of their products are absolutely amazing quality, and the same price point as Makeup Revolution. I snapped these up as soon as they were released, and this shade is the one I always reach for when I need to refresh my makeup. As you can see, it's a bright, almost neon Barbie Pink, which I absolutely adore. The formula is amazing, it 'sets' almost immediately, and stays put for hours. They've got a tendency to flake off when they get wet, but apart from that they're faultless in my opinion.

Avon Ultra Colour Indulgence Lipstick in Spring Lilac, £5 This is the most perfect spring/summer colour, for me at least. It looks very purpley in the tube, but as you can see it's actually a beautiful, purple-toned pink. The formula is lovely, it's so creamy and lasts quite a while on my lips. It also has SPF 15, which is always a plus!

Collection Extreme 24HR Eyeliner in Blue, £2.99. As I'm sure you've noticed, I've been loving colour this month, and I've been loving this and the next product for a pop of colour that isn't too bold. This is a beautiful, almost-navy blue that really goes well with my sometimes green, sometimes blue eyes. I can honestly say that although I haven't worn this for 24 hours, I've worn it for a very long time in various situations and it hasn't once budged. I've even slept in it (I know, I know!!) and it's still been perfect the next morning. For £2.99, what more could you want?

Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Teal, £3. Firstly, I couldn't find this exact shade online, although I've linked to the ones they have got. It's worth noting that I've noticed quite a few products from Avon that haven't been online but have been in their brochures, so it might well be in one if you've got a representative near you. I've been loving this for a subtle hint of colour under my eyes, and I've been loving it. It blends out perfectly, with no unwanted smudging or moving around throughout the day. It does wear off towards the end of the day, but you do get a very fair wear out of it. Definitely worth checking out the other shades, in my opinion!

What products have you been loving this month? Have you tried any of these products before? Please feel free to leave links to your monthly favourite below!

Easter In Pictures | Easter Sunday 2015

Hello lovelies! Firstly, I hope everyone had a lovely Easter Sunday yesterday. I thought I'd share my day in pictures, I hope you enjoy.

My Easter 'presents' off my mum & sister

My sister's Easter 'presents' off our mum and myself.

'What did I get, mum!?'

The nicest plate of veg roast ever!

I was absolutely spoilt rotten off my mum and my sister. My lovely mum ruined my healthy eating by getting me far too much chocolate, and my sister got me two books I've been dying to read; An Abundance Of Catherines by John Green, and Love Letters To The Dead by Ava Dellaira. She also got me Bangerz by Miley Cyrus, which I recently mentioned is one of my favourite albums, and Up & Mockingjay Part 1 on Blu Ray. Can we all say best family ever?!

My sister was also spoilt rotten, with just as much chocolate as I got, plus I got her a massive Baymax toy. We absolutely loved Big Hero 6 when we saw it recently, and she's been obsessed ever since, so I thought this was the perfect thing. Kaiser and Smiter were particularly keen on him!

Of course, brunch was a Guylian bar whilst I read some of Love Letters to the Dead, which I couldn't put down all morning. Kaiser was his usual excitable self, he loves any celebration and today was no exception. Of course, we didn't leave him out and bought him & Smiter some of their favourite treats. After the best sunday roast ever (which is basically just a lot of veg & a Yorkshire for me!), we all settled down and watched Up, which I inevitably cried at. Lots. Afterwards, we all basically fell into a chocolate coma.

All in all, it was a fantastic family day. In my family, any holidays are spent just spending time together, and it's a good excuse for us to bond over lots of chocolate and films, which I'll never say no to! I hope you all had a great day too!

Weekly Music Favourites | What's Been On Repeat?

Hello Lovelies! It's that time of week again where I sit down and share with you guys what songs I've been loving this week. You may have seen my post recently where I mentioned my Spotify playlist, which allows you to see what I'm adding and listening to on a daily basis. However, these are the stand-out songs for me this week.

Trouble - Iggy Azalea & Jennifer Hudson. In all honesty I've never been Iggy's biggest fan, but for some reason I just can't stop listening to this song. Maybe it's just really catchy, but it's definitely been one of the songs I've loved most this week.

Hold My Hand - Jess Glynne. I've been in love with Jess Glynne for quite some time now, and this latest offering of hers is absolutely no different. How catchy is this? It's got such an amazing beat, you find yourself singing it in your head hours later. Amazing.

House Party - Sam Hunt. This has long since been one of my favourite songs, but this week I've really been feeling it again. Firmly at the top of songs I can call my all time favourites, I can't just listen to this once. As soon as it comes on shuffle, I hit repeat and I can listen to it for the rest of the night. Potentially the most catchy, feel-good song I'll ever feature on this little blog!
And, that's the end of this week's collection!

Have you been loving any of these songs this week? What songs have you had on repeat lately?
